Personal Work: Kevin in New York, September ‘25

Some more shots from NYC today, and as we’re getting into the Spring I thought I’d share some warmer images! This is Kevin, a male model I shot on location on a rooftop in Brooklyn back in September. I can’t believe I haven’t shared these shots!
.
For this look I was really inspired by West Side Story, and I wanted to light, pose, and crucially *grade* the images as if West Side Story had been shot in 2024, with that retro feel. Is this making sense. Anyway, with Kevin’s poses and movements, I wanted them to feel a little more pose-y, with a touch a movement in there, without going overboard. Kevin was fab to work with, and brought with him this stupendous red outfit. As soon as I saw it, I was like “YES. LET’S DO IT” - and these are the results.
.
Big thanks go to Kevin (@KevinDKofi) for a great afternoon, @samanthazausch & @_anna_sneed for the amazing support, friendship, and guidance throughout my trip, @susan_ely at @Profoto for the incredible help as well as @jphazon for making me feel so welcome and intro-ing me to @fredatfotocare@fotocarenyc, & @tonydnyc, without whom these images wouldn’t have been able to be created, @photobyphe for her amazing production support and booking skills, and Q Models (@QModels) for being so accommodating and patient. Thank you thank you thank you.
