Great British Spring Clean - Campaign Images

Today I’m so thrilled I’m finally able to share my images from The Great British Spring Clean, which launched today!

This was shot over a period of three days in August (2024) and October (2024), the Great British Spring Clean (and Great British School Clean!) Campaign is spreading the word that the environment belongs to everyone. Many of our volunteers that work with KBT regularly find ‘retro rubbish’ that was dropped years ago but is still causing harm to the environment today, which is absolutely mad. Honestly, sometimes you’ll find plastic bags and bottles over 20 years old on these litter picks.

Last year, KBT’s army of amazing Litter Heroes pledged to pick more than 425,000 bags of litter - and among them are the real-life stars of this year's campaign images - Emdad, Ash, El, Pat and Emily.

For these shots we used just the one light, a Profoto B10X on a lighting stand, with a small octa, just to light the face(s) a little, and give these litter heroes the heroic lighting the deserve!

Huge thanks as ever to Nat at KBT, as well as Andy, Stef, Helen, and everyone behind the scenes helping to make things happen. Oh, and my fantastic assistant Naomi.

And here are some of the images in action:
