Personal Work: Paris on Film, June ‘25
Last week I needed to escape from my life a little, and so I did something I’ve fantasised about for years - I decided to jump on the Eurostar to Paris. I know, not exactly the most wild fantasy, but it’s something that’s been on my list for so long, and sometimes I’m a bit guilty of just letting things sit on that list forever!
I had two rolls - one of Portra 160 (36exp.) , and one of Kodak Gold 200 (24 exp. So on the X-PAN II that worked out to 20 images and 13 images respectively! Just enough to capture some bits and bobs when I was there.
When I’m away I do sometimes feel guilty about taking a camera - surely the point of the holiday is to disconnect from all that stuff - but actually, you know what, shooting on film is kind of emblematic of what the holiday should be. Slowing down. Being more deliberate. And really taking the time to look.
Below is a selection of shots taken at: my Airbnb in Montmartre, Père Lachaise Cemetery, the Champs Elysees, the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay, Musee de l‘Orangerie, and the Pinault Collection. As well as a few snaps in the street!
Enjoy x
