CAMPAIGN IMAGERY

Move Dance commissioned me to photograph and direct the launch campaign for the Bethany Kingsley-Garner × Move Dance Collection, a dancewear range created in collaboration with Principal Ballerina Bethany Kingsley-Garner.

The collection was developed around Bethany’s own experience as a dancer, with garments inspired by the people, roles and influences that had shaped her career. Move Dance positioned the range around the grace, drive and freedom of dancers, combining performance-led design with a distinctive floral mesh print and a strong sense of Bethany’s own identity.

We photographed the campaign at the Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline, using the theatre environment to place the collection within the world it had been designed for. Alongside the stills campaign, we also created motion content for the launch, including a film released around World Ballet Day.

My approach combined dance photography, commercial portraiture and fashion-led campaign imagery, using Bethany’s movement and physicality to show the clothing in action while keeping the work rooted in her character as a performer.

The campaign was created with a wider production team including filmmaker Dan Watts, hair and makeup artist Selena Jack, assistant Madeleine Penfold, and headpiece designer Mr Mortimer’s Wife, working alongside Bethany and the team at Move Dance.
