SCIENCE & INDUSTRY MUSEUM

The Science & Industry Museum (part of the Science Museum Grouo) commissioned me to shoot the campaign images for ‘Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You’, and then 6 months later asked me back to shoot the images for the second iteration of the exhibition: ‘Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies, and You!’.

’Food, Poo and You’ was a high-profile, entertaining, interactive, family-focused exhibition about health and the human body, developed in collaboration with the BBC and the Operation Ouch! brand.

Visitors got hands-on and were immersed in the world of medical science as they explored their bodies and health. Aimed specifically at children and the adults guiding them, the content of Operation Ouch! was pitched at an accessible level, with an entertaining and fun approach.

Guided by videos and illustrations of the hosts Dr Chris, Dr Xand, and Dr Ronx, visitors were shrunk, swallowed, and squeezed through Dr Xand’s digestive system.

Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You was a major family-focused exhibition that explored the human senses through immersive, playful encounters with medical science. Visitors journeyed through an ear canal coated in wax, squeezed past sticky snot, and plunged headfirst into the inner workings of the body, offering an accessible and entertaining introduction to how the senses function.

The exhibition ran from February 2025 to January 2026, giving visitors the opportunity to explore how the brain interprets the world around us. Designed for children and the adults guiding them, the content combined hands-on interactives with clear scientific explanations, encouraging curiosity and experimentation throughout. Video appearances from Dr Chris, Dr Xand, and Dr Ronx featured across the exhibition, helping to unpack the science behind each experience.
